Poperinge can be reached easily by train (www.nmbs.be). To travel further to Watou the public transport system (‘De Lijn’) offers a lot of services. One of them is the so-called “bell bus”: a personalized bus service which should be reserved in advance. Regulations can be found below.
Travelers can phone the bell bus service from two weeks to two hours prior to coming to Watou. (tel. number 059 56 52 56). Reservation by telephone is required. All further information can also be obtained there. So any person who wishes to come to Watou can make use of the bell bus on a daily.
On weekdays (which means Friday 18 and Saturday 19 May) a bus leaves Poperinge station for Watou every hour from at 09:35 am onwards. Returning from Watou to Poperinge is possible from 10.05 onwards. The last bus leaving Watou is at 19:05 pm.
On Ascension Day (Thursday 17 May) and on Sunday 20 May there is a bus every two hours from 11:35am onwards. The last bus leaving Watou is also at 19:05 pm.
People who do not possess a free ticket or a reduced price ticket pay 3€ for a single ticket. The journey takes about 15 min.

f you want to make use of this transport facility, phone the service and give your name, the day you want to come to Watou and the time the bus you intend to take leaves Poperinge Station. Also indicate the place of departure (Poperinge Station) and the place of arrtival (Watou Market Square). So reservation is essential. Only then do you get confirmation. The service is easy and comfortable. It is adapted to departure and arrival times of trains at Poperinge.
