De Speelschare

• The Speelschare, founded in 1980 by Gino Malfait who is also the general manager, is an orchestra of young musicians attached to the Sint-Aloysiuscollege of Diksmuide. The members of the Speelschare are mainly pupils of this school.
• The group has more than sixty youthful and enthusiastic members and can be described as an extended harmony orchestra where all musical instruments, including violin and guitar, can be played.
• Their contribution to the festival is a fusion project in which parts of the Gregorian repertoire are introduced or alternated with corresponding compositions for wind orchestra.
