Schola Sanctae Sunnivae
Norway
- this schola, consisting of 16 ladies, all of them with professional vocal background, has been conducted by Anne Kleivset since its foundation in 1992.
- the ensemble focuses on the revival of the heritage of the Norwegian Gregorian repertoire, more specifically the Nidaros or the medieval Trondheim repertoire, to be found in the manuscripts conserved in the Royal Library at Copenhagen.
- the Schola Sanctae Sunnivae is closely linked to Trondheim Cathedral, the most northerly cathedral of Europe, in Martin Luther context. Yet the schola has developed an astonishing affinity with the Western European tradition.
- in their way of singing numerous links with Norwegian folk tradition can be noticed.
