09:30 - Workshop with referent Jaan-Eik Tulve
Estimated end time: 13:00

For the content of this workshop we can rely on a most inspiring and competent musician: Jaan-Eik Tulve from Estonia.

Immediately after the opening of the borders of his country in 1990 he was given the opportunity to study Gregorian chant at the Paris Conservatoire and to conduct the Choeur Gregorien de Paris for a few years. After returning to his native country he founded the Schola Vox Clamantis at Tallinn, which was to become one of the best vocal ensembles in the world.

These days Jaan-Eik Tulve is one of the leading conductors, especially when Gregorian chant and music forms related to it are at the stake.

His conducting is much valued for its precision, musicality, versatility and communicative approach. Jaan-Eik Tulve insists on legato singing within the horizontal character of Gregorian chant, as it forms the basis of its musicality.

This interactive workshop envisages choir conductors and singers who are familiar with the Gregorian repertoire. Members of the Vox Clamantis ensemble will illustrate the practice examples and introduce the moments of community singing.
