Welcome on the site of the International Gregorian Festival of Watou (Belgium)

We thank you for the numerous attendance during this "In Memoriam" edition. Currently, we are reflecting on the future, and the next edition of the Festival.

A special thanks to everyone who contributed to make this possible: all singers, collaborators, sponsors, and everyone who gave us a warm heart. It genuinely gave us great joy.

Dear visitors and sympathizers of the International Gregorian Festival of Watou,

As you probably already know, on 13 October 2021 we mourned the passing of our beloved father, husband, inspirer and organiser of the Watou International Gregorian Festival, Bernard Deheegher.

Normally the 14th edition of the Festival with preceding pré-ouvertures would have taken place during the Ascension weekend in 2021. Due to the Covid pandemic, this edition was postponed entirely to the Ascension weekend in 2022.

After a period of reflection and consideration following Bernard's passing, the Festival organisation has decided not to hold the edition as originally planned as a 10-day event. Given the continuing uncertainties in the framework of Covid, and the desire to honour our organiser, we have decided to transform the originally planned edition into an "In Memoriam" gathering around the Ascension Day, on 25 and 26 May 2022, in Watou.
