- Schola Antiqua is a men’s schola conducted by Juan Carlos Asensio since its foundation in 1984.
- all its members were formed as choir singers at the Escolania del Valle de los Caidos.
- the schola concentrates on sources study and performance of Gregorian chant and early music such as Beneventian, Mosarabic and Ambrosian chant and of early polyphony; also alternatim practice often occurs in their programs.
- the schola has an extenisve discography with numerous recordings with a.o. La Colombina, l’Ensemble Plus Ultra, l’ Ensemble Baroque de Limoges, La Grande Chapelle, The Voices Ingles, The Venetian, The Tallis Scholars ....
